Supporting the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy
Twinning activities such as short-term staff exchange missions, workshops and summer schools will be held to advance the research and innovation capacity of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy (FTM) at the University of Belgrade. Organised by the EU-funded ExcellMater project, the activities will focus on biomaterials engineering and pursue collaborations with leading international institutions: Aalto University, Finland, Università del Piemonte Orientale, Italy, and AO Research Institute Davos, Switzerland. One top goal of the project is to address a translational gap in the development and utilisation of novel biomaterials for medical devices, arising from the lack of relevant procedures and expertise. An international conferences on biomaterials and medical devices will be held towards the end of the three-year project to increase the FTM’s visibility in Serbia and beyond.
