Project description
Twinning to boost competences in computational biology in Portugal
The study of biology using computational techniques is advancing. Computational biology is used to help sequence the human genome, model biological systems and create models of the human brain. The EU-funded OLISSIPO project will enhance the competences in computational biology at the INESC-ID research institute in Portugal. Specifically, it will assist the Institute in boosting its innovation capacity in computational biology and provide training to staff and early-stage researchers to build a solid synergy at the interface of computer science and health research. It will also support regional initiatives under the SMART specialisation strategy for Lisbon and Portugal and strengthen the collaborative network between the twinning partners in France, Switzerland and Germany.
