Environmental control of cell identity to combat muscle disease and ageing
The EU-funded RENOIR project comprises a European training network bringing together 10 academic and three industrial partners in a bid to train 13 early stage researchers with an exceptional profile and background to become leaders in the field of muscle regeneration and ageing. This new generation of versatile researchers will dissect the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying impaired muscle composition and function, paving the way for new therapeutic interventions for muscle disease and ageing. The work is designed to be carried out through collaborative and synergistic projects between academia and industry.
