COllaborative Platform for trAnsmedia storytelling and cross channel distribution of EUROPEan sport events

Project description

Sports clubs and associations streaming live for fans worldwide

Bypassing cable, broadcast and satellite television platforms, over-the-top (OTT) media services are streaming directly on the internet. In the world of sports, OTT is changing live sports broadcasts, which have been one of the strongholds of linear TV. Building on this new reality, the EU-funded COPA EUROPE project will develop cloud-based infrastructure for harvesting, accommodating, transmitting and distributing digital media representing sports and competitive events. This new venture is based on the application of artificial intelligence in the media and transmedia storytelling (boosting search, navigation, synchronisation and editing). It is also considering a semi-professional cloud-based live content workflow and blockchain, which can ensure delivery of a smart contract transaction ecosystem for paying subscribers.
