Project description
New software to assist stroke patients with vision loss
A stroke is a serious medical condition, affecting millions of individuals each year in Europe alone. Most suffering as well as the significant economic burden could be reduced with early and intense rehabilitation promoting patient mobility autonomy. Current rehabilitation procedures for post-stroke symptoms do not lead to quick and long-term recovery. The EU-funded SoftReVision project plans to develop rehabilitation software that will run together with commercially available virtual reality equipment and will be suitable for bedside use. Importantly, the new software shall combine diagnostic and rehabilitation procedures in such a way that training procedures can be individually tailored to the needs of each patient.
