Project description
An innovative transformative process towards energy transition
The effective transformation of the European fossil-based energy sector into a zero-carbon one requires the implementation of socio-technical systems and the consideration of the particularities of each territory. The EU-funded RIPEET project aims to bring together quintuple helix actors of the territorial socio-technical energy regime in Transition Labs to envisage and implement a place-based energy transition process. RIPEET’s objective is to support responsible research and innovation (RRI) policy experimentations for the energy transition in three European territories – Extremadura (ES), the Highlands and Islands of Scotland (UK) and Ostrobothnia (FI). Using existing landscape and regime-level pressures, the project aspires to facilitate the development of territorial socio-technical futures based on RRI actions.
