Project description
Research for optimising future epidemic measures of control
The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has transformed our lives and brought many undesirable consequences. For instance, rules and policies introduced to help control the spread of the virus have resulted in deep economic recession. What’s more, social contacts and interactions have been interrupted and people are generally hesitant about visiting healthcare centres. In that regard, the EU-funded SHARE-COVID19 project has adopted a transdisciplinary and internationally comparative approach to exploit data sources of the SHARE research infrastructure. The goal is to formulate recommendations that will make European societies more resilient, effectively protect the most vulnerable population of 50+ and optimise future epidemic control measures.
