Autonomous Infrastructure Inspection via Vortex Robot Climbers

Project description

Increasing infrastructure inspection efficiency, reducing downtime

Infrastructure inspection and maintenance operations are just as important as the initial development phase and should not be overlooked. Current policies aimed at strengthening and growing industries, however, focus more on development and less on maintenance. In this context, the EU-funded VORTEX project will market a new robot technology developed in the Ηorizon 2020 FET Open project CompInnova. The aim is to increase inspection efficiency in terms of reduced execution times, lower operational costs and increased worker safety. The project will focus on the creation of its brand name and expand the dissemination and communication activities implemented in CompInnova. The findings will show how investments in infrastructure inspection and maintenance can reduce downtime costs in future.
