Project description

Advanced terahertz technologies for the next digital revolution

The terahertz radiation has been heralded for its potential to accommodate the escalating needs of the envisioned applications in the fourth industrial revolution era. The development of efficient and affordable integrated hardware components and systems that ensure robust performance in this frequency range requires overcoming many technical and scientific challenges. Funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme, the ARETHA project aims to provide a holistic approach that should lay the foundations for the development of technologies, including advanced semiconductors and integrated circuit packaging. The project will leverage the latest advances in material science to engineer custom silicon-based integrated circuit designs in the terahertz regime.
