A big boost for microbiome research
Microbiome science is relatively young, but it has evolved rapidly over the past decades. Still, only 1 % of microbiomes have been studied so far. In this context, the EU-funded INSPIRE project will lift the next generation of scientific leaders to the forefront of leading microbiome research. Specifically, the project will provide experienced researchers with the opportunity to design intersectoral microbiome research projects in the interconnected areas of food systems or health. It will forge cross-sectoral partnerships to bring together researchers and practitioners. It will also aim to develop resources and future proof fellows’ careers.
