Project description
A green boost for automotive applications
Contributing to the European Green Deal, the EU-funded HiEFFICIENT project aims to ensure sustainable mobility and resource efficiency for future transportation. Bringing together 33 partners from 9 European countries, the project consortium includes European industrial companies and research institutes. The project will work on industrial use cases, including modular inverters with different voltage levels, multi-purpose DC/DC converters, and test systems for power electronics’ lifetime testing. The HiEFFICIENT partners have set ambitious goals to gain higher acceptance and achieve maximum benefits in using wide-bandgap semiconductors in the smart mobility sector. This includes a 40 % reduction in volume, an increase towards 98 % efficiency and a 20 % improvement in wide-bandgap power electronic system reliability.
