Project description
Putting rail freight transport on a digital track
Rail freight transport – the sustainable logistical backbone of the EU economy – is expanding. The European Commission targets a 50 % increase in rail freight transport in Europe by 2030. In this context, the EU-funded DACcelerate project will pave the way for the transformation to full digital rail freight operations in Europe. This is in line with the European Green Deal and the Commission’s digitalisation agenda. Overall, the project will manage and directly support the European DAC Delivery Programme in close cooperation with all stakeholders. It will also set in motion a framework allowing the identification of any bottlenecks in order to help increase automation and coupling efficiency and safety.
