Project description
New biohybrid sensor opens the door to biointelligent manufacturing
The EU-funded BioProS project will revolutionise virus biomanufacturing processes by developing an innovative sensor composed of both biological and non-biological components that can detect virus infection cycles at cellular level. This continuous, real-time, biohybrid sensor technology will serve as a platform which is adaptable to other applications and suitable for various production settings. As such, it represents an important step in the development of biointelligent manufacturing — the integration of digitised information, technology, and biology in production. BioProS also seeks to instigate and nurture relationships with all involved parties and establish the EU as a leader in biointelligent manufacturing.
