Project description
Welcome to safer urban roads
According to Eurostat, almost 19 000 persons were killed in road accidents in the EU in 2020. To help the EU halve road deaths and injuries by 2030, the PHOEBE project aims to create a framework for the assessment of road safety impacts when planning strategic changes in urban environments and policies. Planning for safer urban environments is especially important in the current constantly changing scenario, with new forms of transport and micro-mobility emerging. The EU-funded PHOEBE project wants to deliver an interdisciplinary solution to integrate traffic simulation, road safety assessment, human behaviour, mode shift and induced demand modelling as well as new and emerging mobility and telematics data into a harmonised, prospective assessment framework for road safety.
