Project description
A global community in open-source cloud computing
Many tasks on our smart phones are taken for granted. Access to storage, files, software and servers via internet-connected devices relies on cloud computing technology. The MSCA-funded CLOUDSTARS project intends to establish a global reference community in open-source cloud computing. The project brings together 11 academic institutions in nine European countries (Austria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom), two EU companies, and three industrial laboratories from IBM (Israel, Switzerland and the United States). It will combine theoretical skills and experience in distributed systems research with industrial open-source technologies and advanced cloud and edge infrastructures. The results will increase the comprehensive global impact of European researchers, reaching millions of interested third parties through open-source communities.
