Project description
Enabling technologies for the future space ecosystem
Aerospace engineering is a growingly expanding field in need of innovative modular solutions. The EU-funded SCHUMANN project aims to strengthen the foundations of the future space ecosystem in Europe. To this end, researchers plan to develop a functional spacecraft module (FSM) consisting of a tank for refuelling satellites and a refuelling experiment setup to support the testing and qualification of the FSM. Furthermore, they will draw specifications for a spacecraft construction kit that should help guide FSM developers in making their modules able to be used in a single ecosystem.
