Objective Testing in a pilot plant for two years the implementation of recycling technologies in leather tannery wastes: recovery of hair from dehairing operations and of chrome from trimmings and scrape of tanned leather.Recovery of hair from dehairing process: Pouring of hair waste together with waste waters should be avoided by chemical hydrolization. Hair will be kier boiled at 140 C and 3 Atm, countercurrent air dried at low temperature and finally packed for usage in mixed feeds and farming. Recovery of chrome-Lanned trimmings and scraps: Leather pieces will be hydrolized and chrome hydroxyde will be separated and used again in the Lanning process. A protein hydrolizate is also obtained.
