Integrated Modelling of Process Heat Transfer with Combustion and Fouling

Objectif



This proposal contains a number of projects which add considerably to the scope of the original project.
The proposed additions include: studies of the influence of sonic waves on combustion and fouling; statistical methods for deposition processes in circulating fluidised beds; fast flow models for turbulent conditions; numerical solutions to heat transfer through deposits; modular furnace modelling and modelling and experimental studies of high ash low calorific value coals in a fluidised bed system.

Two projects which are generally outside the scope of the current activity are also included.
These are aimed at the utilisation of artificial intelligence and real time control techniques for combustion and fouling work.

An additional project on liquid side fouling work has also been included which would be suitable for consideration in conjunction with a separate JOULE project, plus two for which incomplete details are available.
