Comparison of flamelet and PDF models with detailed experimental data for premixed turbulent cumbustion

Objectif

The objective of this study is to provide accurate experimental measurements of the flame propagation in premixed gaseous charge under different intensity and scale of turbulence.
Research will be carried out in cylindrical chambers and different grids will be used to generate initial turbulence in the mixture.
Part of research will be carried out in a single compression machine, where turbulence will be generated by a rapid movement of piston.
Compressed gaseous mixture will pass through different turbulence generated grids, so prior to ignition, turbulence of different scale and intensity will be generated.
Turbulence intensity and scale depend not only on size of the introduced grid, but alson on initial pressure and the speed of compression. Turbulence intensity and scale will be measured by a hot anemometry. Flame propagation will be measured by a high speed direct photography and the effectiveness of combustion will be estimated on the basis of pressure measurements.
This research will be estimated on the basis of pressure measurements. This research will be carried out for a gaseous mixtures of different composition and initial pressure.
