Cross-country comparison on Energy Efficiency Indicators - Phase II

Objectif

To develop Energy efficiency indicators at sectorial level which are comparable among countries. Continuation of Phase I with a deeper analysis.
- Database on energy efficiency indicators at the disposal on line to all participants;
- Methodological paper on energy efficiency assesment (definition, calculation of indicators...)
Objectives
- (i) Progressive harmonization of data collection for the need of sectoral energy efficiency assesment with reference to CO2 emissions, and management of the data in a common computer database regularly updated, for all EC member countries.

- (ii) Implementation of a common methodology for energy efficiency assesment on a cross country comparative basis

- (iii) establishment of appropriate mechanism in order to confront on a regular basis the experiences of the various member countries in the field of energy assesment.
-Organization
- Ademe is the leading agency.
- Decentralized setting for data collection and expertise as welll as for the interpretation of ratios and indicators (a network of partners);
- Organization, storage and processing of the data in the framework of a common computer database ;
- Double coordination, on the technical level and on the institutional level for supporting the common project.
