Objectif Their high strength and toughness levels make duplex stainless steels suitable for structural applications in the fields of civil engineering (buildings, bridges), offshore and transport. However, their mechanical behaviour is not entirely defined for structural applications. The aim of this project is to investigate the behaviour of duplex stainless steels in terms of mechanical properties (fracture mechanics, fatigue, corrosion fatigue, energy absorption properties) in unwelded and welded conditions. The results will be compared to those of the classical solutions and design rules used today for each field of application.
