Objectif The project will coordinate research on the harvesting of wood, notably in areas with steep slopes. The most cost efficient methods and the best types of equipment will be researched. The interaction between the harvesting phase, the silvicultural phase and the forest ecosystem will be elucidated. The project will ensure the transfer of results and scientific methods between countries. Links will be established to practical forestry, to producers of forest machinery and to environmental organisations.
