Obiettivo The objective of this Concerted Action is to initiate and coordinate action to harmonize comprehensive information on animal feed and nutrition and achieve its appropriate availability throughout the EU1). It covers in particular the establishment of the governing, organizational, administrative and (preparatory) technical structures for a future European Network of Feed Information Centres with a central and driving role for steering group, project group and coordinating secretariat. It is proposed to transform in due time the secretariat of this Concerted Action into the European Feed Information Centre, including the establishment of an European Feed Data Base, acting as the hub in the European Network of Feed Information Centres (ENFIC). After the design and adoption of a Feed Data Management Package, participating teams in a limited number of EU countries will start a prototype-ENFIC-network. The experience gained from these beginnings will be used to present and expand the full system to all EU Member States and, if appropriate, to other interested European countries.
