Hazard detection at the planning stage supported by an on-line database interface

Objectif

New requirements imposed by the mining authorities, e.g. in connection with the environmental impact assessment (EIA), as well as practical necessities, e.g. rational use of equipment and optimum work safety, make survey data and other operational information essential. Such data are stored in a general 'in-house database' technically at only one point of the information system. This means that consistent data can be supplied for various tasks, e.g. for specific departments, efficiently and in appropriate graphic form.

The aim of the project is to establish and test a database interface so that standard graphic tasks can be carried out, including:
- removal/modification of planned workings,
- correction of mathematical errors without the need for new calculations,
- consideration of extended safety areas which are changed graphically.

Adapting data processing to standard operational practice in this way is necessary in order to:
- prevent errors resulting from the lack of clarity in the usual list structure for large point sets in databases,
- make provision for the integration of hazard detection into the operational planning process.
