Development of a safety management model adapted to the requirements and standards established for quality assurance systems

Objetivo

The aim is to develop a proposal for a safety management model for Ensidesa based on quality management standards and on the current quality management system and designed to draw as much as possible upon existing approaches to present-day preventive organization while being fully adapted to the steel industry's features.

The project is to be developed in four sequential stages:

The first task will be to develop a safety management model incorporating the principles contained in ISO 9000 (or EN 29000 to 29004, which is the same thing), the CEN having approved these ISO standards as they stood. Account will also be taken of British Standard BS 5750 relating to quality management systems and BS 5750 relating to environmental management systems.

The second stage is a comparative analysis of Ensidesa's current management system. This will identify shortcoming and similarities with the proposed model.

Using the input from the analysis of the way the present system works in practice, a proposal will be drawn up for a specific model for Ensidesa. This will be the result of adapting the theoretical model developed during the first stage to the company's present preventive organization.

A proposal will be made, on the basis of the guidelines provided in ISO 9004-2, for a quality management model for Ensidesa's Prevention Department.
