Objective To show, that pv is a reliable energy source for the future. Demonstrate the application of different mounting techniques, roof-mounted, roof-integrated, facade integrated, carport-roof, racks.Show, that pc systems can be integrated in specially protected areas. The project is also used to encourage the use of electric cars on the island.Nine grid connected PV generators (total PV power 22.5 kWp) are installed (in seven different towns) on the island of Sylt in the North of Germany. The generators range in size from 1590 Wp to 3710 Wp. Six are roof mounted, two are roof integrated and one is mounted on a car port. The local utility cooperates in the project and installs 2.6 kWp on their own building for charging of an electric car.
