Cel Demonstration of a utility-sized CFB power plant concept, applicable for firing coal in combination with CO2-neutral biomass, to achieve a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions as compared with modern fossil-fueled plants. USC (Ultra Super Critical) steam data and improved operability are essential plant characteristics.A 90 MWe CFB cogeneration plant, to be built and operated by MIDTKRAFT for ELSAM as the next step in the development of a coal and biomass-fired power plant concept, will be deployed for the demo-programme.Novel plant features are : capability of firing a high biomass input (0-60% energy), including aggressive bio-fuel; USC steam data; improved operability characteristics. Short and long term tests within a wide range of fuel mix will be performed over a two-year period. The technical, environmental and economic features of the concept will be evaluated.Upon completion normal cogeneration service is foreseen throughout the plant technical life.
