Objective CARDI-ASSIST aims to develop a clinical platform for three-dimensional ultrasound for cardiological training, diagnosis and teleconsultation. It combines improved ultrasound image acquisition with visual support employing animated three-dimensional models of the heart for simulation and understanding of its diseases in training, as well as efficient synchronous and asynchronous teleconsultation. Besides developing prototypes on three different platforms, the project will draw up proposals on diagnostic procedures and perspectives associated with the new technology to maximize its benefit to the entire European medical sector.
