Obiettivo The project was based on an innovative design of thermal sensor, whereby a market need was foreseen in the following two areas:- a new family of effective sensors, very compact, reliable. and economic, allowing efficient effective power measurement.- in the control of air conditioning systems, for instance in railway carriages which need more reliable and cheaper system improving user's comfort. Both utilisations are based on the same innovative technology - magnetic flux measurement. This new concept of flux sensor, the basis of the CAPTEUR Project, may change the control and analysis methods in many human activities, as it eliminates thermal inertia problems. The aim of the CAPTEUR Project was to conceive, build and, in real conditions, use the two types of sensor mentioned. The implementation results obtained in this way were expected to form the basis of future diffusion. The CAPTEUR consortium was composed of 4 partners coming from countries of the E.U. including one University and two SMEs.The benefits for Europe were anticipated to be :- a new concept of energy measurement, not depending on a temperature, will enable energy to be treated like the others sectors, with universal units. The effect will be important for scientific education, and for international exchanges- the creation of a new industrial sector with different applications, many of which could include SMEs- the improving of the safety (prevention of fire for instance) and of comfort- better control of energy.
