Statistical physics of complex fluids and plasmas

Objective

The main goal of this project is the development of self-consistent theories of non-ideal Coulomb and neutral systems: strongly coupled plasmas, suspensions, colloidal crystals, liquid metals and plasma-molecular systems.

Fundamental research will be performed on unified kinetic theory, structure factors, non-local processes, plasma turbulence, electromagnetic and hydrodynamic fluctuations, expansion of plasmas into vacuum and neutral gases and mathematical models to describe non-linear fluctuations, properties of gas-gas systems and the dynamics of waves in liquids and plasmas. Problems will be studied in which the strong interaction between particles and non-linear effects plays an essential role.
