Optimal control and differential games: theory, numerical methods and applications

Objectif

The main goal of this network project is to promote active collaboration between NIS and West European researchers in the fields of control theory and differential games. Emphasis will be placed on theoretical aspects and the development of numerical schemes to solve real problems arising in applications.

The research will focus mainly on the following subjects: geometric methods in optimal control; necessary and sufficient conditions for optimal solutions; sufficient conditions for non-local controllability; non-linear optimal control problems with impulsive and singular controls; optimal control for systems with delay and incomplete state information; application of multivalued analysis methods and variational optimality conditions to control problems; viscosity solutions of Hamilton-Jacobi equations; and viability theory.
