Objetivo The aim of this project is to set up the arrangements for an international meeting of developmental biologists to be held in Moscow. The purpose of this meeting is to establish contacts and working relationships between embryologists from the NIS and scientists from Western Europe with similar research interests. Preliminary contacts have already been established. Since biologists from the NIS are in difficulties at the moment, connections of this kind will lead to fruitful and continuing collaborations. The specific objectives of the conference will be: to identify areas of importance in research being conduced at the Koltsov Institute and elswhere in the NIS; to support NIS scientists in the longer term by initiating collaborative research projects; and to publish the work of NIS scientists in the West to increase general awareness of their work.
