Cel The project will test the use of renewable energies to supply heat and power for the polar situations, in order to limit the consumption of fossile and nuclear fuels and so reduce the risks and the pollution of the polar environment associated with their transport, use and handling. Evaluating the long term weather data available the project will check the possibility of using the cold wind-sea water thermal dipole as a renewable resource to drive heat pumps and thermomechanical machines. In practical terms, the project will try to develop and design an absorption heat pump (thermo-tranformator). By doing so, it will be possible to fulfill the immediate objective of the collaboration with Krenkel, i.e. to help maintaining a scientific activity on the base.
