Transnational short courses for the transfer of research and development results in co-operation with companies and higher education institutions

Objective

The transnational short courses planned in this project in the area of technology take account of the current situation in eastern Germany and are aimed at strengthening technology in newly founded SMEs, in particular, through continuing vocational training.

It is planned to run four courses lasting two days each. In line with the industrial profile of the region, the courses deal with problems regarding metal-working, motor-vehicle drive engineering, remote high-speed data networks and comprehensive management issues. Distribution of the course content which will, as a rule, be produced in German and English is planned via a web server on the Internet.

Impact
The project is well-founded and caters for the needs of the region. The procedural sequence, comprising a needs analysis, development of pilot courses, adaptation of content and production of a course programme is a logical and consistent one. The market opportunities and transferability of the project are assessed as good.
