Interactive European distance training and recognition of qualifications in cold storage and air conditioning

The replacement of products that use CFCs, which cause the depletion of the ozone layer, has given rise to new skill and qualification needs amongst workers in sectors producing cold storage and air conditioning products. This implies the need for basic training in physics and chemistry. This project will develop a distance learning course in cold storage and air conditioning using a multimedia system.

The course will comprise 21 topics divided into three main thematic areas: elementary physics; diagrams; and installations. Each topic will contain a general introduction on the industrial application, an interactive part and technical documentation. The work will be carried out by training centres that have extensive experience in this field. Companies from all the countries involved will supervise the work and evaluate/validate the products as and when they are developed.

Impact
The project will have an impact on the availability of continuing training for workers in the cold storage and air conditioning sectors.
