Objective A recent European directive requires pharmaceutical companies to train manufacturing and quality control staff on new rules applying to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). However, no suitable training material exists in this regard. This project proposes to assemble elements from two previous FORCE projects to create an interactive training tool which meets the needs of pharmaceutical industry operators. The Netherlands/Ireland FORCE project produced a CD-I-based training programme on fundamental skills needed in pharmaceutical manufacturing, whilst the France/Spain project produced a range of training tools for a national qualification that meets the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practices. A company survey has demonstrated the usefulness of these two products but has also highlighted the benefits of combining them. For this reason, the partners have decided to design an integrated, updated product to meet companies' needs. This will comprise 4 CD-Is aimed at training operators in the following areas:- Good Manufacturing Practices, documentation, microbiology;- preparation of sterile pharmaceutical preparations and their packaging;- production of non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations and their packaging;- history, development, dosage techniques, the human body, safety and well-being.ImpactDevelopment of qualifications for low-skilled workers in the pharmaceutical industry, a large number of whom are women, through the design of a training programme on EU-enforced Good Manufacturing Practices.Contract number : F/96/1/00022/PI/III.3.a/FPCDomaine : Continuing vocational trainingContents : Vocational qualifications Self-training and distance learning Evaluation of vocational trainingProducts : Training modules Selftraining Computer/electronic-based materials Public : Workers in companies Less-qualified Young workers Programme(s) ET-LEONARDO DA VINCI 1 - Action programme for the implementation of a European Community vocational training policy Leonardo da Vinci, 1995-1999 Topic(s) III.3.a - Multiplier-effect projects Call for proposal Data not available Funding Scheme CSC - Cost-sharing contracts Coordinator INSTITUT DE FORMATION DE L'INDUSTRIE PHARMACEUTIQUE EU contribution No data Address 15 Rue RIEUX 92100 Boulogne-Billancourt France See on map Total cost No data
