A guide for seasonal tourism workers

Objetivo

Like the former Alpine merchants who travelled the trade routes of Europe to exchange goods and ideas, today's seasonal tourism workers are keen to travel professionally within the EU. This enables them to develop the language/intercultural skills they need and satisfy their curiosity. In order to encourage this trend, the project promoters intend to draw up a multilingual guide entitled "A guide for seasonal tourism workers", dealing with the processes and evaluation of transnational careers in this area. The partners, with the help of their Spanish, British and Slovakian colleagues, will design a tool that brings together a curriculum vitae, in-company assessment frameworks, language certification and professional references.

This interactive tool will be the migrant workers' property, be valid for their entire career and facilitate contact with Euro-counsellors, company trainers and recruitment staff. This tool will also heighten seasonal workers' sense of being a roving ambassador for their region of origin and will provide information on the country being visited. Finally, this guide - which is initially aimed at European tourism professionals - could be used in other sectors where seasonal employment occurs.

Impact
This project will facilitate the mobility of seasonal workers by offering them a tool enabling recruiters, trainers and counsellors to quickly assess seasonal workers' skills/career path and validate their professional experience.
