A European training system for proximity employment (personal care occupations)

Obiettivo

Although proximity employment is growing at an annual rate of between 4% and 7%, many needs are still not being catered for. The project partners, whose skills and activities complement each other, are convinced that services cannot be created without local effort and professionalisation of the service providers. They therefore intend to create a European youth/adult initial and continuing training system for personal-assistance occupations in the broad sense of the term.

A needs-analysis targeting service-users in the partner countries will constitute the first phase of the project. On the basis of its results, the partners will:
- define new occupations and identify paths for entering both new and existing careers;
- draw up a skills reference guide;
- create a modular phased training system that allows skills to be validated on a step-by-step basis;
- develop pedagogical content to match identified local employment opportunities;
- develop research on a European skills-accreditation system.

Impact
Professionalising the supply of proximity services by identifying professional profiles corresponding to identified needs and designing appropriate training programmes.
