Research on optimal use of multimedia training systems for reference purposes

Cel

The aim of this project is to disseminate information on the best methods of using multimedia training systems and products. Experience in various European countries has shown that these tools can enhance training systems and methods, i.e. improve quality and access disparate target groups (people with learning difficulties, SME employees, adults wishing to re-enter vocational training, etc.). Although widespread multimedia use is desirable, it is problematic and, apart from the question of transfer of tools, poses the problem of adapting skills appropriately. It also presumes a general development in training techniques. Access to global approaches is one way of overcoming difficulties already identified.

For this reason, the partners propose an exchange of methods amongst professionals and decision-makers at European level based on their joint experience and analysis of optimum conditions for multimedia use. Four reference guides will be the first in a series of publications and an Internet service will enable professionals to produce and consult case files and contact the parties concerned, etc. Involvement of the social partners and decision-makers will be encouraged through the organisation of a workshop to present the results of the survey and analysis.

Impact
This survey/analysis will promote the use of multimedia products and services in training programmes as well as help disseminate know-how and good practice in this area.
