An international renovation building training programme for the long-term unemployed in the construction industry

Ziel

Long-term unemployment is an extremely serious problem in the construction industry all over Europe. An international renovation building programme will help the unemployed get jobs in other EU countries if work is not available in their own countries. Mobility is much easier, however, when individuals have the qualifications that other countries require.

The goal of this project is therefore to improve the quality of training arrangements in the construction industry in Europe. Well designed training which responds to the challenges of the future will make it easier for the unemployed to adapt to society and the labour market. The partners will analyse and compare existing training methods and curricula dealing with renovation. A common international training programme will then be designed. The training will then be tested in various European countries before full use by training organisations and the construction industry itself.

Impact
The ultimate beneficiaries are the unemployed in the construction industry, who will have a better chance of obtaining work both abroad and in their own countries. Renovation know-how will become more widely available and workforce mobility will be increased.
