To promote the development and improvement of transferable core personal skills in initial vocational training

Cel

Enlargement of the European Union has implications for education and training institutions and new continuing vocational training strategies are required to prepare students for the European labour market. The development of a standard system of transferable, initial vocational training would act as the first stage in the process of lifelong learning. The objective of this project is to develop a Euro-qualification for initial vocational training to facilitate the improvement and transferability of core personal skills.

A transnational system of work exchange will allow project participants to identify and analyse core skill requirements in tourism, business administration, and health and social care, developing training modules for continuing vocational training and distance learning in these areas. A variety of innovative teaching aids, including the Internet, video conferencing and multimedia will facilitate transnational access to initial vocational training. The monitoring and evaluation of progress will be undertaken through a series of questionnaires, transnational conferences and workshops.

Impact
The new Euro-qualification will attract young people to initial vocational training in core skills and promote a positive attitude to life-long learning. The transnational dimension will promote worker mobility and improve job prospects.
