Patient Information Language Localisation System

Obiettivo

There is currently a widespread need in Europe for new approaches to the creation and management of content in multiple languages.
PILLS proposes to demonstrate the feasibility of combining a domain-specific knowledge base with a generic authoring platform employing WYSIWYM(c) ('What You See Is What You Meant') for editing and multilingual text generation.
Using the generic technical solution above PILLS aims to demonstrate its approach by generating digital content for one specific sector - the European medical and pharmaceutical products industries.
The multilingual authoring application will be designed to support various sub-sectors, including pharmaceuticals developers and manufacturers, health portal publishers and healthcare e-marketplaces.
The project will develop a showcase demonstrator to illustrate and verify the feasibility of the PILLS multilingual authoring concept.
Results :PILLS will, in the course of its 12-month preparatory phase, produce the following outcomes:
- a detailed market investigation and analysis of the healthcare industry requirements
- implementation and development of a 'showcase' prototype for the medical-domain using the WYSIWYM(c) editor
- a user Focus Group for evaluating the showcase.
