Metal waste prevention

Objectif

for the European countries, the new PARCOM limits require for many industries an optimised waste water management. The decrease of the concentration limits for several pollutants needs a change in waste water treatment technology. Many companies foresee problems when they keep on cleaning their waste water with the conventional environmental technologies. For environmental regulation, the focus has shifted away from emission reduction through "end of pipe" treatment towards integrated approaches. This project is aimed at the development of on-line integrated processes (Supported Liquid Membranes (SLM) and Modified Electrodialysis (MED) combined with the use of 3-dimensional cathode cells) for the prevention of metal waste from industrial effluents to reach the zero discharge. This means no The implementation of fully controlled (lab-on-chip) SLM and MED units in the plants of three different end-users is the final objective of this project.
