Doped diamond devices and sensors

Objectif

Young researchers will be trained in all techniques that will equip them to take part in the commercial exploitation of diamond as an electronic material. They will learn techniques used to grow device-grade diamond, to introduce the impurities that control its properties, and to exclude those that degrade its operation. They will learn how to characterize the defects by the scientific techniques that are productive for diamond. They will be trained in the design, fabrication, testing and optimization of diamond electronic devices. They will spend time at several laboratories in the network, in order to be trained in the complementary skills offered at those laboratories, and also to gain experience in several European countries. The range of skills that they will learn will not only put them at the forefront of the commercial exploitation of diamond electronics, but will also train them in generic skills which will be valuable in the semiconductor and IT industries.
