Objetivo The aim of the research is to increase aircraft safety when confronted with atmospheric disturbances such as wake vortices or windshear conditions, by defining the enabling technology based on new remote laser anemometry and pattern recognition techniques and by defining and evaluating a laboratory based demonstrator.The FLAME program is designed to serve the commercial aviation market. It will enhance safety and reduce delays during aircraft approach and take off phases. Both phases involve hidden risks from atmospheric disturbances such as trailing vortex and windshear.
