Objetivo Description:The IFRF offers access to a range of facilities, bases primarily on the concept of semi-industrial scale experimental research on flames for industrial heating processes through to and including the dissemination of research information to industry using advanced communication techniques. Studies on pulverised coal, liquid fuel sprays and gas flames may be undertaken using classical measurement techniques, or a range of advanced measurement techniques. Development work is undertaken in the field of advanced measurement techniques and mathematical modelling. The developed modelling is applied to the prediction of the combustion and emissions performance of industrial heating equipment. Finally solid fuels and residues may characterise in terms of combustion and emissions performance in boilers and other conversion processes.Application:The IFRF co-operates with the University of Wales at Cardiff and ENEL, within the consortium EuroFlam which has the common objective to provide access to large scale combustion research facilities. The call for proposals is undertaken on a rolling programme. Potential applicants can enquire directly to the individual Programme Managers (for the IFRF, this is Mr Peter Roberts) or via the EuroFlam Homepage. Calls for proposals are published directly to European Engineering Professors and via the IFRF "Monday Night" email Newsletter. The Chairman of the Users Selection Panel is Mr Peter Roberts (IFRF). The panel meets twice a year to discuss the acceptability of Users. Individual Programme Managers have the responsibility of co-ordinating facility applications, and involves a) an application form, b) a letter of support, c) a CV, d) project description, and e) technical reference. It is expected that graduates with degrees in Engineering or Sciences are the most suitable candidates.Project Manager:Peter Roberts, Ijmuiden 1970 CA, P.O.
