Objectif Description:The EMBL Hamburg Outstation offers access to synchrotron radiation beamlines instructural biology to a widespread European user community. The Outstation currently has research groups in protein crystallography (PX), small angle scattering of non-crystalline systems (NCS), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (EXAFS) and instrumentation. These groups operate seven beam lines of which four are dedicated to PX, one to NCS, one to EXAFS and one to research in instrumentation. The beam lines have been designed and built and are also maintained by the instrumentation group in close cooperation with the relevant research groups. Further information on the beam lines is available on our www pages (http://www.embl-hamburg.de/ExternalInfo/Outstation_Intro.html). The research activities of the Outstation are supplemented by a molecular biology and biochemistry laboratory, a mechanical workshop and an administrative section. The majority of the research activities is in collaboration with groups of the European user community and other EMBL research groups.Application:PX: applications to beam@embl-hamburg.de. Further details are found under: http://www.embl-hamburg.de/ExternalInfo/Research/ProCryst/X-RayVisitors.html NCS: applications to koch@embl-hamburg.de. Further details are found under: http://www.embl-hamburg.de/ExternalInfo/Research/Saxs_Xas/SaxVisitors.html EXAFS: applications to Wolfram.Meyer-Klaucke@embl-hamburg.de. Further details are found under: http://www.embl-hamburg.de/ExternalInfo/Research/Xas/XasVisitors.html At the beginning of each year there is a call for proposals, published in Nature and electronically. The current chairman of the Priorities Committee is Prof. Martino Bolognesi, University of Genova, Italy. Proposals are evaluated by their scientific value and technical feasibility.Project Manager:Matthias Wilmanns, European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) - Hamburg Outstation, C/o DESY, Building 25 A; Notkestrasse 85, Hamburg 22603, GermanyTel: +49-40-899020Fax: +49-40-89902149E-Mail: Wilmanns@embl-hamburg.de Champ scientifique natural sciencesearth and related environmental sciencesgeologymineralogycrystallographynatural sciencesbiological sciencesbiochemistrybiomoleculesproteinsnatural sciencesphysical sciencesopticsspectroscopyabsorption spectroscopynatural sciencesbiological sciencesmolecular biology Programme(s) FP5-HUMAN POTENTIAL - Programme for research, technological development and demonstration on "Improving the human research potential and the socio-economic knowledge base" (1998-2002) Thème(s) 1.4.1.-2. - Access to Research Infrastructures Appel à propositions Data not available Régime de financement LFC - Access to Research Infrastructures Coordinateur EUROPEAN MOLECULAR BIOLOGY LABORATORY Contribution de l’UE Aucune donnée Adresse 85,c/o DESY, Notkestrasse 85 22603 HAMBURG Allemagne Voir sur la carte Coût total Aucune donnée
