Objetivo The EUSSIRF (Florence) facility provides access to the collections, services and research instruments of the Library of the European University Institute whose academic population of PhD researchers, professors, fellows and visitors (some 600 in all), from EU member states and elsewhere, conduct research, at the highest academic level, in law, economics, history and political and social science with particular reference to Europe. The Library supports the research information needs of this multilingual user population and is very strong in its coverage of the social sciences. Collections now total over 500,000 volumes in both paper and microform, 3,500 periodical subscriptions and a large collection of working papers. Researchers have access to other information retrieval services through locally-networked CD ROMs and remote on-line databases. It has major collections in governmental and intergovernmental publications and a first-class European Documentation Centre.
