Objective The objective of the DEO project is to demonstrate a range of energy efficient technologies in the domestic environment and to show how these systems can be integrated to provide an optimal energy system for an individual house which offers improved comfort, flexibility and economy whilst reducing overall energy use and carbon dioxide emissions. The project seeks to show to the market place that these are viable and desirable solutions for future housing in Europe and that energy suppliers, consumers and equipment manufacturers will all benefit from the adoption of the principles demonstrated.
