Objective

The work aims to consolidate the technological feasibility of innovative components and systems and a modem HTR with a direct cycle. It is focussed on -the innovative components (turbine, recuperator, magnetic bearings, rotating seal).

Specifications will be defined. Design studies, validation of the concept proposals, experimental tests will performed;
- the tribology. The experience feedback will be analysed. Tests will be performed in particular for the innovative sliding components;
- the helium purification system. Recommendations concerning the helium impurities contents will be provided in accordance with the materials proposed for the innovative components.
